GOES EAST GeoColor satellite imagery over Florida. Stagnant mid summer pattern over the state. East to west oriented surface high pressure axis was lying across the central peninsula resulting in light and variable winds. East coast sea breeze will develop and initiate isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over inland areas by early afternoon and will travel westward. A majority of activity will be over the western half of the peninsula by late afternoon. Current east coast offshore convection will diminish as they near the coast. Credit: NOAA
